Letter for Increasing the Taxi rates because of fuel price

I have been working as a taxi driver for X-Taxi since I immigrated to this country for the past 8 years. I have had an excellent time working with X-Taxi, and I have never had a complaint until now. My complaint does not involve the company itself, however it involves the fuel prices, and the effect it has on us drivers.
As you are well aware, fuel prices are the highest they have been in the last 10 years. There is nothing we can do about that, however it only makes sense that, in turn, the taxi rates should also increase.
We spend more, and more on fuel but we are still making the same amount we made when we first started. I do not believe this is fair.
As a result, I respectfully ask that the taxi prices be raised as it is getting harder, and harder to earn a living wage due to the amount we are spending on fuel.
