SemiOffice Notes Help

A quick guide to creating, organizing, reminding and backing up your notes.

Getting started

Click the SemiOffice Notes icon in Chrome to open the quick notes popup. Choose New note to start writing. Your changes save automatically. Use Open Full Workspace when you want the larger notes board.

Organizing notes

Use folders, colors, tags and pinning to keep important notes easy to find. Search can locate text across your notes, while workspace filters help narrow larger collections.

Templates

Templates provide useful starting structures for common notes such as Today's Tasks, Weekly Plan, Meeting Notes, Call Notes, Project Notes and New Ideas.

Reminders

Open a note and choose the alarm/reminder control. Set a quick time or custom date and time. When the reminder becomes due, SemiOffice Notes can show a prominent alert and Chrome notification.

From the reminder alert you can open the note, dismiss the reminder, or postpone it for 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour or until tomorrow.

Backup & restore

Local backup: choose Backup & Google Drive, then Export Backup to save your notes as a JSON file. Use Import Backup to restore a compatible SemiOffice Notes backup.

Google Drive: Google Backup is optional. After connecting your Google account, you can use Backup Now, Restore from Google and Automatic Backup. The Google option is designed to store the app's backup in your own private Google Drive application-data area.

Privacy

Your notes are local by default. SemiOffice Notes does not require a SemiOffice account or a SemiOffice notes server. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Keyboard shortcut

The extension includes a Chrome command for quickly opening SemiOffice Notes. Chrome may allow you to customize extension shortcuts from its extension keyboard-shortcuts settings.
