SemiOffice Notes

Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 11, 2026

Summary: SemiOffice Notes is local-first. Note contents are stored in your browser by default. SemiOffice does not operate a server or database that receives or stores your notes.

1. Information stored locally

SemiOffice Notes stores the information needed to provide its features in your browser. This can include note titles and contents, folders, tags, colors, checklist state, pinned status, reminder information, workspace preferences and backup settings.

2. Google Drive Backup

Google Drive Backup is optional. If you choose to connect Google Drive, SemiOffice Notes requests authorization for application-specific Drive storage and transfers the extension backup directly between your browser and your Google account. The backup is intended to be stored in Google Drive's private application-data area rather than in a SemiOffice server.

SemiOffice does not use Google Drive authorization to browse your normal Drive documents. The requested Drive app-data scope is intended only for the application's own backup data.

3. SemiOffice servers

SemiOffice Notes does not require a SemiOffice account and does not send your note contents to a SemiOffice notes server or database as part of its core notes, reminder, local backup or Google backup features.

4. Notifications and reminders

If you create a reminder, the extension stores the reminder time and related note information locally so Chrome can schedule and display the reminder. Reminder information is used only to provide the reminder feature.

5. Local backup files

If you choose Export Backup, the extension creates a JSON backup file for you. The location and handling of that downloaded file are controlled by your browser and operating system.

6. Sale, advertising and unrelated use

SemiOffice does not sell note contents or use note contents for advertising, creditworthiness, lending decisions or unrelated profiling.

7. Google API Limited Use

Information received from Google APIs is used only to provide the user-requested Google Drive backup and restore functionality. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to applicable Google API Services User Data Policy requirements, including Limited Use requirements.

8. Data deletion

You can delete notes from within the extension and permanently remove items from Trash. You can clear extension data by removing the extension or clearing its local storage. If Google Backup is enabled, you can disconnect Google authorization; Google also provides controls for managing third-party app access and application data.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when SemiOffice Notes features or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the current version.
